what is valentines day really for? i dont know. honestly i think its just like 99% of other holidays. it was a day made to commemorate something wonderful that most people have turned into a halmark holiday. im sure there is some very interesting things about st. valentine. im sure he bettered the world in countless ways. he might have saved hundreds of people from a burning building for all i know, but im sure he did something great that left an impact in so many peoples lives that they set apart a day to celebrate him. today, most women use it to get gifts and flowers while men stress about forgetting it and make up funny excuses why they forgot (hehe, with you everyday is like valentines day) but i think that yes, we have drastically perverted what valentines day is and even what love is. i spent the last week thinking about things like that. just what love is. why we love and how we love. love today is a misinterpretation of what it should be i think. originally, love was god. love is god. God is love. not shows love, not has love, God is love. his essence is love. God = love. and not that we loved him, but that he first loved us. so by us showing love to eachother, God is revealing himself to us. i think thats just a cool way of looking at true love whether that be brotherly, romantically, or fami...ly. ha. so true love reflects God. so god should naturaly be the heart of each good relationship. if we are going to reflect him, he needs to be present in it. mirrors in a fun house do no good if a person doesnt walk into it. bad example i know. but im sure you get the jest of where i was going. so im getting tired of typing and i have a short attention span. so im gunna wrap up my ideas and thought and whatnot on love. The best, possibly only way to have a truly happy, healthy, lasting relationship is to have its focus be not only each other but God before themselves. besides, He did kinda invent love. im pretty sure he has a pretty good idea of how to hold a good relationship together if its his will. so to the few, if any, that read this, i challenge you to put god into your relationships if he isnt already. i know that i can really use alot of help in that. too few times have my friends and i ever talked about god on a day to day basis. and second if you do have God as your focus in life and in relationships, that you remember the tremendous sacrifices that God has been through because he loves us. and maybe if we tried to love with the same selfless, unconditional love then assume that that relationship will grow and prosper in Gods will. o nd im supposed to ask a question to challenge you and encourage comments.... hmm. well, completely off topic. but my youth pastor asked it tonight and it kinda stuck with me. what are some things that you know you should be doing in you christian walk that you arent. or maybe somethings that you are that you shouldn't be. basically, i would like to know what some of your struggles are. i know the christian walk isnt easy. i mess up alot more than i should. i would also like to know how you over come these things and getting into the habit of doing them or out of the habit of doing them if that's the case.

so. hmmm. my friend told me to get a blogger account. i did. now what? does that count as a question brad/kurt? i dont think it does. so lets see.... well ill start out with this. i am currently taking ancient world history. its a great class. mr. walsh is a great teacher as you all know. (minus eli) it has really challenged my faith in old testament miracles though. like the flood. the bible says it covered the whole world and every mountain was covered. that means that the world would have to be covered to the top of mt. everest. now, i know that God could do that. i mean hes God, he can do what he wants. but did he do it or just the known world at the time (europe and whatnot) mr. walsh explained that it could have been very likely that a glacier melted and flooded all of civilization leaving few. just to let you know, i do not base my faith on the flood. because i question this does not mean i question God at all. i was just wondering if you think it could be a misinterpritation, an exageration, or if the entire world was actually covered. but i did find it interesting in that class that the first story ever recorded mentioned a great flood that killed everyone and the guy sent out ravens and doves to see if there was dry land yet.
